Martha Alvina Yesse Spellman a retired secretary for Schoonmaker Homes and longtime Newburgh resident entered into rest Thursday October 20, 2011 in West Orange, N.J. She was 95.

The daughter of the late Frederick and Wanda Krause Yesse, Martha was born April 15, 1916 in Newburgh. Martha was a devoted member of The Salvation Army.

She is survived by her daughter Michele Ann Spellman Kroeze and husband Edgar of West Caldwell, N.J., grandchildren Meghan Hodgson, Kyle Rice, Zachary Rice and great grandchildren Tyler Barbin, Grace Hodgson and Ella Hodgson. In addition to her husband, Arthur Fox Spellman, she is predeceased by her sister, Anna Travis.

Visitation for friends and family will take Monday October 24, 2011 from 10am to 11am at White & Venuto Funeral Home 188 N. Plank Rd. Town of Newburgh.

Funeral service will commence at 11am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
