Leonard I. McCaw was born in Ohio Grove township, Mercer county Ill. on May 20, 1890, and died of tuberculosis in the sanitarium at Ottawa, Ill., April 14, 1913. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCaw, and his 2 brothers are Ernest and Cecil. Mr. McCaw graduated from the Viola High school in 1908. After attending a term of the Macomb Normal school, he taught school one year. He entered the Viola State Bank as bookkeeper, in January, 1910, and became the cashier in September, 1911, which position he held with honor until his last sickness.

Mr. McCaw was married July 20, 1912, to Miss Vera McCoy. He leaves his wife, his parents, 2 brothers, and a host of friends to mourn his loss.

Mr. McCaw was received into full membership in the United Presbyterian church on March 18, 1913. He was a good boy, and a highly esteemed and honored man, and the whole community will miss him.

The funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian church, Viola, Ill., conducted by the pastor, the rev. J.A. Earnes, assisted by the rev. C.E. Fisk of the Presbyterian church, and the rev. B.R. Nesbit of the Methodist church. Interment was made in the Viola Cemetery.

NOTE: Mr. McCaw died 3 months before his only child, Leonore, was born!
