His grandfather, Johannes, baptized April 9, 1659 in NY, was a patentee of Tappan and a founder of the church there.
Johannes was one of eleven children of Isaac and Elizabeth Meyer Blauvelt. Both parents were born at Tappan and were married there Oct 14, 1714 in The Dutch Reformed Church.
[ I believe memorial # 79184811 is that of his father Isaac who is # 35 in the ABD.]
The children were all baptized at Tappan, Johannes being Tappan baptism #236. He married Helena Pullen, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Lloyd Pullen, in 1743 and they had seven children.
With the permission and aid of the private cemetery staff, we careully peeled away the sod from his fallen tombstone to reveal the epitaph copied below. Though well protected by the sod, it was not completely legible. The sod was returned to cover the stone for its preservation.
