Mr. Obie Baker age 92 of Dewitt, KY passed away Saturday - November 01 , 2008 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the son of the Late Henry & Dora Baker born to them on November 05, 1915 in Knox County.

Obie attended the Salt Gum Baptist Church and later attended the Dewitt Baptist Church and was a logger and member of the three c's and was a Kentucky Colonel. His parents, two sisters Della Merida, Lizzie Gross, two sisters Mary Martin, Martha, and two brothers Hubert & Pete Baker preceded Obie in death.

On December 23, 1939 he as united in marriage to Sarah Mae Mills and to this union two children were born. Survivors include, his wife Sarah, one son Jerry Baker & wife Marlene of Dewitt, KY, one daughter Barbara Baker of Port Orange, Fla. Two brothers Jeff Baker of Barbourville, KY and Charles ( Chet) Baker of Grays, KY. Grandchildren Ginger Hall & husband J.M., Kandi Hampton & husband Doug, Kristal Doolin & husband Terry, Scott Cole, and Beverly Cole. Great Grandchildren Kimber Hall, Lindsay Cole, Lauren Cole, J.T. Hall, Taylor Hampton, Tara Doolin, Plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday - November 04, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kennon Roark, Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev. Brian Miracle officiating . Pallbearers will be J.M. Hall, Doug Hampton, Terry Doolin, Scott Cole, John Baker, M.J. Baker, Clifford Mills, and Roger Mills. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Mills, Herless Mills, J.T. Hall, Charles Baker, Jeff Baker, Clarence Roy Mills, Jim Matt Mills, Lee H. Mills, Ben F. Mills, and C.T. Mills. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements
