ANDREW B. ASHBA

Andrew B. Ashba was born of Ruel and Mary Margaret Riffey-Ashba in Carroll county on May 24, 1863 and departed this life from his home on Washington street, Delphi, Ind., on Thursday morning at 7:30 o'clock, Oct. 23, 1930.

Mr. Ashba has been on of Carroll county's most esteemed citizens. He has been a farmer practically all of his life until recent years he has made his home in Delphi and often with his children.

He was much loved by his beautifully spirited wife and his children. He was a very kindly disposed man and grand about his home.

In business relations he was always considered a man of integrity and honor.

His character was exemplary and he has been a member of the Church of God.

He had not been well for some time. An automobile accident in which he and his wife met injuries proved to be a great shock to him. However death was due to a sudden heart attack and apoplexy.

He was married on November 21, 1889 to Addie M. Loy. To this union were born five children: (two now deceased, Jessie B. Ashba and an infant son); the other three survive him and are present today: Ruel L. Ashba, of Carroll county; Andrew Ray Ashba, of Maxwell, Iowa, and William L. Ashba, of Carroll county.

Besides the children, his wife Mrs. Addie M. Ashba survives; also one-half brother, John A. Shaffer, of Carroll county, and two half sisters, Mrs. Carrie McKinley, of Battle Ground, and Mrs. Mayme Snyder of Delphi.

An uncle George Riffey and an aunt Mrs. Adam Sines were very dear to him who survive him.

Seven grandchildren survive, they are: Mable, Helen, Ivan, Betty, Margaret, Maxine and Paul Ashba.
