5th son of Stephen Chenault II, the latter who was the son of the first/only Chenault immigrant, French Huegonaut, Estienne Cheneau (aka: Stephen Chenault I)...


William's mother considered to have been Annester Coffey, married to Stephen II about 1746.


William served in Capt. Henry Terrill's Co. and in Col. Josiah Park's 5th Virginia Regiment. He spent the winter at Valley Forge and was in the battle of Stillwater.
