After a lingering illness extending over several weeks, J L Chambers died at his home in Oneonta at an early hour last Thursday morning.

Mr Chambers was 46 years of age and for the past two and one half years had been living in Oneonta. He came here from Albertville and with his son, Roy, had been operating a meat market on First Avenue.

The deceased is survived by his widow, two sons, Roy Chambers, of Oneonta, and Wafford Chambers, of Beaumont, Texas; one daughter, Miss Zora Chambers, of Oneonta; two brothers, A W Chambers of Beaumont, Texas; and Bert Chambers, of Holly Pond; two sisters, Mrs Minnie Burns, of Holly Pond, and Mrs Ethel Drake, of Birmingham.

The funeral services were held at Holly Pond Friday and were conducted by Rev Oscar House.
