There are two thoughts on this Franklin Babcock. One is that he died in 1862 and is in Beaver Meadows. The Babcock Family seems to think he remarried and lived in Vestal, NY.
Carol Brotzman Beaver Meadows Historian states:
Hedy's 2000 book on Beaver Meadows does not list him, nor does her 1987 book that I have. However the 2000 book says he is recognized as a veteran. Hedy Chaffee tried to get him a military stone and was denied. Why I do not know, however there are a few who think he is here.
PVT - Co D, 141st Regt, Penna Volunteer Infantry (From August 22, 1862 to December 6, 1862 he served as a private in Co. D of the 141st Penna.)

Mr. Babcock was from Tuscarora Township and 44 years old when he mustered with the company. His enrolling officer was a Lieutenant Davis who performed the duty August 11, 1862. 11 days later he was mustered for his 3 year term by one Lieutenant Stetson. He received a discharge by order of General Martindale, due to disability, December 6, 1862. Having a chance to go home was not meant to be. Franklin died that same December 6, 1862. His body was brought home and is buried in Beaver Meadows Cemetery, Tuscarora Township, Bradford County, Pa.
