Funeral services for Marshall Lee Baugh, 78 of West Monroe are 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Luna Assembly of God with Pastor Joel Brackett, Rev. Larry Eubanks and Rev. J. L. Baugh officiating. Interment follows at Luna Assembly of God Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mr. Baugh was born June 7, 1933 in Ouachita Parish and passed away October 28, 2011 in West Monroe. He was a lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish and retired from Manville Forest Products, West Ouachita High School and Commissioner of Voting Polls. Mr. Baugh was a member of Luna Assembly of God where he served as an adult teacher, head usher, and deacon and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was cemetery overseer for many years and he graduated from Eros High School.
Mr. Baugh was preceded in death by his parents; Ted and Mary Harper Baugh and a brother and a sister.
Mr. Baugh is survived by his wife of 56 years Bettye Harrell Baugh; sons; David and Louanne Sims, Dennis and Connie Sims; grandchildren; Amy Sims Carlyle and husband Brad, Brian and Jeremy Sims; great-grandchildren; Abbie, Anna and Eva Carlyle, Tyler Sims and Aiden Taylor; 14 brothers and sisters; and a number nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Donald Bonnett, Clyde Graham, Jimmy Lenard, Jimmie Bailey, Rickey Brown, and Alton Downs.
Honorary pallbearers are Joey Hodnett, Conway Strong and Carl Underwood.
Visitation is Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.
