HEAD IS CRUSHED BY FLYING TIMBER; DEATH INSTANTANEOUS
Last Sunday morning about two o'clock, Evan Ablett, a young an 20 years of age living at Williamsburg, was instantly killed by being struck on the head by a flying timber blown from a shaft which is being sunk in the incorporate limits of the town of Williamsburg.
....Ablett, accompanied by Dave Frew another resident of the same town, were standing about 185 fee from the shaft when the carge was set off. A section of 3X10 timber which had been used for ling the shaft without warning passed close enough to Frew to knock off his hat, and caught Van full in the side of the head and face killing him instantly, for without a word, he sank unconscious to the ground......

There is a very long article, probably more, concerning the explosion that killed young Evan Ablett, as the shaft is actually being dynamited within the town's limits. Many, many people had argued this placement, but apparently the company, Rocky Mountain Fuel, ignore the requests.
