Lois Turner Rosenthal, 90, of DeBary, Fla., formerly of Decorah, died Friday, Oct. 7, in Hospice Care at DeLand, Fla.

She was born March 23, 1921, in Sumner, daughter of Ella Scherrer and Edward Turner.

She married Robert C. Rosenthal in Decorah in 1951. He died in 1988.

She graduated from Quasqueton High School, where she lettered in softball and basketball.

Mrs. Rosenthal worked with Edw. A. Boss Hotels in Independence, Oelwein, Decorah and Waterloo for several years. She owned and operated a Mode-O-Day Shoppe in Decorah, and was a hostess and bookkeeper at the country clubs Mr. Rosenthal managed in Freeport, Ill., St. Charles, Ill., and at the Ridgemore Country Club, Chicago and Knollwood Country Clubs in Lake Bluff, Ill.

The couple retired to DeBary, Fla., in 1980.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Josephine (Lorenz) Mahnke of Waterloo and Geraldine (Marlin) Sullivan of Decorah; and two brothers, Francis (Catherine) Turner of Monticello and Jay (Shirley) Turner of Waterloo.

Memorial services: will be held on Memorial Day, May 28, 2012, at Quasqueton Union Church, Quasqueton, with private burial in Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah.

Memorials: may be directed to Quasqueton Union Church.

Lois loved family, golf and her Iowa Hawkeyes. She also was a beloved aunt to 21 nieces and nephews.
