Kewaunee Enterprise, October 28, 1948, Kewaunee, WI- Rites Held Monday For Charles Karl, West Kewaunee Charles Karl, who lived his entire life span of 88 years in Kewaunee County, died Friday morning at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Karl, town of West Kewaunee. He had been ill only a short time. He was born in West Kewaunee in 1860 and is believed to have the oldest native resident of the county. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Karl residence in West Kewaunee. The Rev. Leonard A. Spooner officiated and burial was in Riverside cemetery in Kewaunee. Six grandsons were pallbearers. He is survived by five sons and five daughters, namely Frank, on the Karl homestead farm; George, Edward and Sylvester, of Manitowoc; Bohumil, of Appleton; Mrs. Mary Mindak, Mrs. William Mueller, Kewaunee; Mrs. Frank Jacobs, Mrs. Emil Glaeser and Mrs. Elmer Trousil, Manitowoc. His wife preceded him in death on May 3 this year, and a son and daughter also precede him in death. Other survivors include 28 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren
