Mr. and Mrs. George Karl of 3715 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc,
will observe their golden wedding anniversary with a Mass
of thanksgiving at 10 a.m. Sunday at Holy Innocents Catholic
Church, Manitowoc.
A family dinner will be served at 4 p.m. Sunday at First
Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, followed by
an open house at 6 p.m. at the Karl's home.
Mrs. Karl is the former Pauline Kowalski and she was born June 25, 1898, at West Kewaunee. Her husband was born Aug. 14, 1897, at West Kewaunee. They were married June 26, 1917, at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, West Kewaunee, and moved to Manitowoc in 1921.
They have four daughters, Mrs. Daniel Langenkamp, Mrs.
Ed. Konecny, Mrs. Reuben Hartl and Mrs. Glenn Ferdon
of Manitowoc and six grandchildren. Karl, a graduate of Kewaunee High School class of
1915, was employed for 20 years at Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc, and until his retirementin 1962 was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. and Manitowoc Equipment Works. He is a past president of Machinist Local 2064, past president of the Shipbuilders Credit Union and served on the board of directors for 12 years.
Karl is also a member ofthe Men's Garden Club and
Fruit Growers Assn. Mrs. Karl is a member of the Altar
Society of Holy Innocents Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl own and operate Karl Orchards on Waldo
Boulevard. Mrs. Karl enjoys sewing and knitting while her
husband is interested in raising and developing new fruits.
Mrs. Joseph Kapitz and Frank Karl, attendants at the
wedding 50 years ago, will attend the celebration.
