REV. STANFORD MITCHELL was born in Durham 3 Nov. 1840. In the Civil War he served three years in Co. C., 8th Me. Regt., most of the time in S. Carolina. He entered the ministry of the Universalist Church and being an excellent singer has been employed for twenty years in Evangelistic work as preacher and vocalist.
