He was the son of Johnson Marshall and Bathsheba Adams, he married Louisa Elizabeth Fletcher on 3/16/1865 in Magoffin County, Kentucky. They had the following
children Samantha, Emma, Basheba, Haskel and Mary. Reuben was a member of the 14th Kentucky infantry during the Civil war. They moved to Sun City, Kansas in the early 1870's. During the blizzard of 1886 Reuben Marshall was among the members of a transport bringing goods into Sun City. The transport was caught in the storm, Reuben lost both feet to frostbite. Moved to Oklahoma in the early 1890's.
