Lady Frances Wheeler was the wife of Major General Sir Hugh Wheeler,KCB, a central figure in the Indian Mutiny or Sepoy Rebellion of 1857. Lady Frances and some of her children died in Sati Chowra massacre, in the Ganges River downstream from Kanpur.
Her final resting place is unknown, though she is memorialized along with many hundreds of victims in All Souls Memorial Church in Central Kanpur, located at Albert and Mahatma Gandhi Roads.
