Mrs. Carrie Boyd Called By Death

Mrs. Carrie Boyd,a resident of the Ainsworth community for many years died at Restopia at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 1963 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Boyd was born near Columbus Junction, February 10, 1876 and was aged 87 years, 5 months and 27 days. Her parents were Fred and Katherine Leffler.

She was married to Hugh H. Boyd, December 31, 1897 and for many years they lived on a farm in this area.

Mr. Boyd preceded her in death in 1924.

Mrs. Boyd is survived by four sons, Wilie and Joe of Columbus Junction, Don of Lone Tree and Jess in California; two daughters, Mrs. Callie Hesseltine and Mrs. Ethel Hazlett both of Columbus Junction and by 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Stacy Funeral Home and were conducted by the Rev. Thomas Hotle, pastor of the Methodist Church at Crawforsville.

Music was by Mrs. John Morrison.

Flower attendant was Mrs. Laird Hawkins.

Casket bearers were Larry Boyd, Richard Utter, Edward Verips, James Patrick Boyd, Richard Simmons and Dallas Simmons.

Burial was in the Indian Creek Cemetery.
