He was a son to Brown A. and Lela Reynolds Chambers Sr. He married Inez "Nill" Daniels, who preceded him in death. On Nov 30, 1980, he married Earnestine McClain, who survives.
Surviving are five sons, Art and Norman (Sharon), both Lima, Cullen, Los Angeles, CA, and David (Sharon) and Greg (Robin), both Lake Elsinore, CA; four daughters, Mary (Bobby) Monford and Carol Florence, both Lima, Jamesy (Derek) Renfro, Jacksonville, FL, and Jollon (Anthony) Duncan, Beason, IL; a godson, Raymond Morton, Lima; two brothers, James, Lima, and Eddie (Lee), Cleveland; a sister, Katie Louise Alexander, Orlando, FL; and forty-nine grandchildren, ninty-nine great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son; two daughters, Emma Chambers Dickey and Cheryl Chambers Allen; five brothers, Curtis, Willie, Charlie, York and Clarence; a half brother, Leo Haskins; and three sisters, Minnie L. Brown, Alice Mae Chambers and Annie Mae Vance.
He accepted Christ at the age of 13 and was the oldest member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, where he was deacon emeritus and a member of the adult Sunday school class. He retired as a reliefman from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1219. He was involved with the Perry Fire Department, Southland Clean-up Project, Red Cross, Cheryl Allen Southside Center and an honorary member of MCM Drama Co. He worked at the Allen County Fair and was active in politics.
Services are at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. B. Lamont Monford Sr., officiating.
