Enlisted: May 27, 1861 at Richmond, Va. Son of Colin Clarke, ESQ and his wife, Mary Goode Lyle.
His sister Mary Ellen married Douglas H.Gordon of Fredericksburg and died in 1848 at the age of 26. Another sister,Sally Bland married John Laurence Manning,who became governor of South Carolina.
His father died at Warner Hall in October of 1865 and his mother died in 1884.
