LeRoy Harold Wilson, age 73, of Sandwich, passed away Sunday, November 22, 1998 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, in Sandwich. He was born November 5, 1925 in Eldridge, Iowa, the son of William and Elsie (Seidelman) Wilson.
LeRoy was united in marriage on August 5, 1950 in Aurora, Illinois to the former Beverly Biehl, and they spent the next 48 years of their lives together.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the United Methodist Church, of Sandwich. He was formerly employed, for many years, as a brass polisher at the Federal Huber, in Plano. LeRoy enjoyed cabinet making and woodworking. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a signal man, during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Sandwich; four children, Patricia Ann (John) Grantham of Dillion, South Carolina, Gloria Jean (Carl) Peterson, Michael Brian (Lori) Wilson and Deborah Kay Wilson, all of Sandwich; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Grantham, Jeremiah, Robert, and Timothy Peterson, Alex, Jacob, Joshua, Aaron and Noah Wilson, Shannon Marie Sawyer, Brandon and Britta Reingardt; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at the Larson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St. in Plano with Reverend Phillip H. Burke, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Sandwich.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 1998 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, in Plano. Please omit flowers.
