Hanging himself from a beam in his barn near O.Brien, Cammille Vansevenhant, rancher and father of seven children, committed suicide at 3:15 Friday morning. His body was cut down at 10 a.m. when his daughter Rose discovered her father hanging to the rafters. He died of strangulation.
Vansevenhant had been despondent for some time over financial reverses, according to reports. A neighbor who was the last to see the man before the suicide said that he appeared despondent.
Deputy Coroner Ralph W. Baines of Kent, went to the Vansevenhant home, where he pronounced the death a case of suicide."
