Ellen Holzgrefe, 72, of Lafayette, IN, died at 4:50 PM Saturday November 12, 2011 at St. Elizabeth East.

She was born August 19, 1939, in Winston-Salem, NC, the late Karl and Jo Vickers.

She graduated from Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, NC and attended the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

On January 12, 1974 she married Fritz Holzgrefe in Winston-Salem, NC.

Ellen was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Lafayette.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and sewing.

Surviving along with the husband is a son.

Fritz Holzgrefe III, with his wife, Mary Jo and their two children Megan and Fritz Holgrefe IV, all living in Georgia.

Also a daughter, Regis Watson, with her husband James Watson Jr. , and their three children James III, Margaret, and Ann all living in Illinois.

And a brother, Jon Vickers and his wife Deanna, of Winston-Salem, NC.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday November 17, 2011 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with a Scripture service starting at 4:45pm.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 AM Friday at St. Mary Cathedral.

Fr. Daniel Gartland officiating.

Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
