Theodore A. Sohn, 89, a retired Plymouth butcher, died today at Plymouth hospital. A resident of Morningside Nursing Home in Plymouth for years, he had been ailing three months.
Prior to going to Morningside, along with his wife, who still resides there, Mr. Sohn had lived on Home Avenue, and for 21 years before that in the town of Plymouth.
Mr. Sohn had retired in 1939 after being employed as a meat cutter for the former Heinecke and Klug markets in Plymouth. In earlier years he had operated his own meat markets at School Hill and St. Nazianz in Manitowoc County.
A native of School Hill, he was born Oct. 29, 1878 a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sohn Sr.
He married Elizabeth Temke at New Holstein, March 9, 1899.
Following marriage Mr. Sohn operated a blacksmith shop at Meggers, then ran the home farm near School Hill before going into the butcher trade. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Surviving are his wife, at Morningside; a son, Raymond E., Kohler; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A sister and brother preceded him in death.
Services will be at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth with the Rev. Robert Bernhardt, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
