496. James B Pelton fourth son of Ephraim*, Henry', Samuel, John', born at Otis, Berkshire Co., Mass., in 1766; married (i) on Grand Isle, Vt, about 1788, Sallie Lawrence, daughter of Joseph Lawrence, who died March 18, 1812; (2) in 1813, Widow Abigail (Burch) McAuley. Removed to Grand Isle Co., Vt, previous to 1788, and thence, with his brother-in-law, Levi Lawrence, in 1805, to Canada, Chateaugay Co., Quebec, and in or about 1809 to Blenheim, Oxford Co., Canada West, now Ontario, where he lived, and there died, in 1849, aged 82 years. He learned first the stone mason's trade, and afterward, brickmaking, at New London, Conn.
