Born April 14, 1919 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Pearl Houser Boyles.
She was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Newton and was a member of the Lutheran Church Women and the Blackburn Home Extension Club. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1940. She began a 40 year teaching career in Lincoln County followed by many years of service at Blackburn and Startown Elementary Schools.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George William Jarrett and two brothers, Robert Boyles and Dan Boyles.
A Service of Remembrance was held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, December 23 at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. Larry Yoder officiated and burial was held in the church cemetery.
The family received friends on Saturday, prior to the service, from 2:00 until 3:15 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church.
