Excerpt -- Terra Alta, W.Va. -- Joanna Belle Messenger, 85, died Tuesday morning, May 2, at the home of a nephew, Samuel G. Messenger, of Rt. 4 Terra Alta. Her husband was the late George Wesley Messenger. She was the daughter of Samuel and Rebecca Ridenour Garner.
Surviving are one brother, Samuel Garner, Orlando, Fla., and the following children: Mrs. Pearl Huffman, Terra Alta; Mrs. Blanche Wright, Brandonville; Mrs. Ellen Davis, Smithburg; Mrs. Isa Wright and Chester Messenger, Terra Alta; 30 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at the Fike and Watson Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Friday, with the Rev. Paul Maness.
