Ada A. Barker

Ada A. Barker, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.

She was born Oct. 16, 1918, in Hart County, Ky. Her parents were William Lewis and Virgie May (Toms) Ward. She married Stanley Barker on Jan. 28, 1940. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Gordon Barker of Edinburgh and Terry Barker of Columbus; a brother, Earl Ward of Franklin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Graham and Virginia Pile; and three brothers, Claude, Carl and Harold Ward.

She was a homemaker and a former member of Blue River Home Economics Club in Edinburgh. She attended the Nazarene Church.

The Rev. Max Downs will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
