Funeral services were held today at the Methodist church for Mrs. Ina officer, 90, pioneer in the upper Rio Grande area. Mrs. Officer died at the Alamosa hospital Tuesday. She had been in poor health for many years and left here several months ago to make her home in Alamosa.
L.S. Officer died five years ago. They were married in Creede in 1895.
She was a native of Cleveland, Tennessee and went to Creede in 1892. Creede and the San Juan Ranch were the family home for many years with Del Norte the winter headquarters.
She is survived by six daughters, Adeline Off and Clara Snow of Del Norte; May Walker, Alamosa; Louella Fowler, Los Angeles; Lora Kaasen, Center; and Jessica Warner, Beverly Hills, California. There are 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
