She was born in Atting, Germany and was a former nun. She came to the United States around in 1901-1902 through New York. In 1904, She married Christian Bourree and was naturalized sometime thereafter. She lived in Wilkes-Barre, PA from 1904 to about 1910 and then New York City. She passed away in Brooklyn, New York thirteen years after her husband's death. She and her husband owned a small island in Maine. She bore a child out of wedlock and when she married Chris, he adopted her daughter.
