Married Mary Carroll, daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. The city of Catonsville, Maryland is named for him.

Marianne; married, first, Robert Patterson of Baltimore; married, second, Richard, Marquis of Wellesley.
Elizabeth "Bess"; married Sir George Strafford, 8th Baron Strafford.
Louisa; married first, Colonel Sir Felton Bathurst-Hervey; married second, Francis Goldophin D'Arcy Osborne, 7th Duke of Leeds.
Emily; m. John MacTavish.

The first three girls were known as "The Three American Graces" due to their beauty; all married into the English aristocracy. Emily, the youngest, remained in Maryland and ran the family finances. She was the only one to have children.
