Giles was the youngest of 8 sons of George W. & Elizabeth (Williams) Caldwell. He was a lumber foreman. He married Lula Hearn in Princeton, WV on Dec. 15, 1903.

Giles Caldwell Taken By Death
PRINCETON (RNS) - Giles Monroe Caldwell, 86, Oakvale Road died Saturday morning after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage at his home. He was a life-long resident of Mercer County. He was born at Lerona, a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Caldwell. He was a mason for 50 years and belonged to the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons at Concord Lodge at Athens.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lula Ann Hearn Caldwell; two daughters, Ruth Caldwell, Princeton and Mrs. R. J. Windley, Norfolk, Va.; one son, G. M. Caldwell, Jr., Detroit, Mich; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; one brother, Floyd Caldwell, Dry Creek, Va.; and one sister, Mrs. Tom Hatcher, Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m Monday at the Seaver Mortuary Chapel by the Rev. Ross McClung, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Princeton. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Garden. Graveside services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge.
