Death Claims Jere Meadows at Brooks

Jerre Meadows, father of Engineer I. N. Meadows, and one of the well known citizens who had spent about all of his life in Raleigh county just opposite Brooks died there on Sunday morning at seven o'clock, after an illness of many weeks, at the advanced age of 88 years.

His death was largely due to old age, and was not unexpected as he had been in a critical condition for the past month.

The remains were buried today at the family graveyard, near the late home, being largely attended by his any relatives and friends.

Mr Meadows is survived by his wife and five sons: I. N., of Woolf Creek, Andy of Barksdale, Charles, Everett and U. M. Meadows of Brooks. One daughter, Mrs. S. S. Bragg of Brooks, also survives as well as a large number of more distant relatives in Summers and Raleigh counties.

Mr. Meadows was well and favorable known to a large number of people in this section. He was an upright citizen and will be sadly missed in his community, where he so long resided.
