PAUL F. SCHMIDT, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at his residence. Born Sept. 17, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was a Korean War Army veteran and a farmer. He was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Turtle Post 3846, Churubusco. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Wilma L. (Schumm) Schmidt of Fort Wayne; son, Calvin W. (Annette) Schmidt of Fort Wayne; daughter, Joan S. (Brian) Mehaffey of Glenview, Ill.; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Schmidt, Heather Schmidt, Lauren Mehaffey, and Elyse Mehaffey; and brother, Carl F. (Beverly) Schmidt of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory J. Schmidt; and sister, Leona Bradtmiller. Funeral service is noon Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6318 W. California Road, with calling begining at 10:30 a.m. to noon. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial in Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
