MOCKSVILLE - Mrs. Virginia Lucille Melton Foster, 89, formerly of Dulin Road, died Monday, November 21, 2011, at Autumn Care of Mocksville. She was born January 3, 1922, in Davie County, to the late W. E. and Minnie McDaniel Melton. Mrs. Foster was owner/ operator of Foster Hair Styling and was retired from Hanes Knitting. She was a member of Cornatzer United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Foster was a loving grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Spurgeon Foster, Sr.; three sisters, LuVerna Melton, Arlene Merrett and Ollie Mae Cornatzer; four brothers, Everett, Gurney, Rad and Bill Melton. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Musgrave (Roger); two sons, Spurgeon Foster, Jr. (Sherry) and Jerry (Cindy) Foster, all of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Bryan Foster (Beth), Wesley Foster (Heather), Jessica Thomas (Jack) and Lisa Foster; a stepgranddaughter, Angela Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Peyton Foster, Luke Foster, Clara Tate Foster, Ayden Foster, Addisyn Thomas and Emmie Foster; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Luther and the Rev. Chris Henson officiating. Interment will follow in Cornatzer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at the funeral home.
