Obituary:
William Kelch was born in Bradford County, Penn.; in 1845, and went to his rest on March 20, 1910, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 22 days. In 1856, he came to Michigan with his parents, and enlisted in Company H, 9th Michigan Cavalry, on Jan. 12, 1863, at Lapeer for
3 years, when he was 18 years of age. He was mustered in on March 14, 1863, and was wounded in-action near Atlanta, Ga. and was discharged for disability at Detroit, Mich., on June 22,
1865.
In 1871 he was married to Miss Emma J. Blue, of Marathon Township, Lapeer County. To
this union was born thirteen children, of which ten are still living.
