He enlisted Apr 1779 as a private under Captain Hill, Connecticut Regiment, commanded by Col. Swift, in General Huntingdon's Brigade. Served 2 years and was regularly discharged at West Point in April, 1781.
When Abiram applied for his pension, it was documented that he, at the age of 57, had a wife of age 56. That would place her date of birth as, 1764. At that time, Abiram noted that he had a girl about 14 "in good health and five sons, two daughters, all of age, live away and are unable to assist him." It is also noted that he was a farmer in occupation.
Census Records indicate the first wife's approximate birthdate as, 1760, in Williamstown, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. Her date of death noted as "before" 1828, in Johnsburg, Warren County, New York
Abiram married his second wife, Sarah Gregory, on, 12 December 1828, in Caldwell, Warren County, New York. It is noted in his Pension file that, they "separated about 15 years later." From that point on, Abiram lived with his son, Reuben Galusha. Abiram died, 9, June 1851.
