MADISON - Brother Abe McCants, age 47, died at home on Friday morning, March 19 surrounded by his wife and children. He had bravely fought a second battle with cancer. Abe was born in Thomaston, Georgia and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He has lived in Madison since 1973. He received an Associates Degree from MATC and worked for 16 years as a cement finisher. Abe loved reading, doing art work, fishing, hearing and making music, cooking, gardening, and making clothes. He had a lifelong, unshakable faith in God which helped him in the end to endure his physical pain. Abe was wise, opinionated, fun-loving, funny, prickly, generous, good-hearted, passionate, and full of life.
