Joseph E. Taiclet was born Apr. 17, 1878, in Vienna, Trumbull County, Ohio, and departed this life Aug. 11, 1935, age 57 years, 3 months, 24 days. He came to Neohso with his parents in 1885 and has resided here since, excepting about 15 years spent in Oklahoma.

Mr. Taiclet was married to Mary Elizabeth Barr of Neosho, Oct. 15, 1899. To this union seven children were born, Edmond and Foss Taiclet of Ponca City, Okla., Paul and Howard at home, and three other boys who preceded their father in death. Besides his sons and his widow, Mr. Taiclet is survived by two brothers, Frank And Able of Neosho, and two sisters, Mrs.Mary Rowe of Wilmer, Calif., and Mrs. Alice Wolfenbarger of Neosho. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Taiclet volunteered for service in the Spanish-American War and spent nine months in Cuba, being wounded in service. He was converted to the Christian faith recently and was willing and ready to go when the time came.

Services were held at the Bigham Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, after which military rites were conducted by Spanish-American veterans and interment was made in the IOOF Cemetery at Neosho,
