John Carty age 77 of Salyersville, Ky., passed away Monday, December 5, 2011, at the St. Joe's Main Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
John was born July 2, 1934, in Magoffin County, to the late Hobart and Elsie Howard Carty.
Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Carty.
He is survived by four sons, Kenneth Wayne(Pam) Carty, Timmy Lee (Regina) Carty, Bobby Neal (Carrie) Carty and John David Carty (Edwina Prater) all of Salyersville, Ky., three daughters, Kathy Lynn Minix of Salyersville, Ky., Debbie Faye (Rick) Lewis of Morehead, Ky., and Shelia Kay Carty of Lexington, Ky., five brothers, Edsel Ford Carty of Salyersville, Ky., Herbert Carty of Salyersville, Ky., Aaron Carty of McDearyville, IN., Walter Carty of Salyersville, Ky., and Royal Thomas Carty of Salyersville, Ky., three sisters, Betty Lou Whitaker, Barbara Sue Dingus, and Phyllis Ann Whitaker all of Salyersville, Ky., twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011, from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel, with David Gamble and Dan Ison officiating. Burial will follow in the Carty Cemetery in Stinson, Kentucky.
