The historic sign above Thomas C. Felps grave, says he was born in Tennessee in 1836 and came to Texas in 1850. During the Civil War, he joined the Blanco county Rangers. In 1863 he married Elizabeth V. White, who was born in 1846 and a native of Ohio. In the summer of 1869, Thomas and his wife were killed by a band of Indians on Cypress Creek. Eliza was also scalped. The couples orphaned children, Thomas and Caroline were raised by Elizabeth's parents.

The Felps couple were killed by Comanche's outside Johnson City, leading up to the "Deer Creek" battle between the Comanche raiding party and a band of Texas Rangers led by Daniel Webster Roberts and other Rangers.

Gravesite Details

This new headstone shows DOB as 11/10/1824 which is the same date on his findagrave memorial. Can you please rectify his DOB and perhaps add a disclaimer about the new stone? Please advise. Thank you. Donna Bonner
