SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. W.D. JENKINS, PIONEER RESIDENT

Services were held last Sunday for Mrs. W.D. Jenkins who was probably the oldest settler in this section. The 90-year-old pioneer died at her home, 215 W. Maple Avenue at 4 a.m. last Saturday morning.

With the exception of about two years lived in Crowley and Lake Charles, Mrs. Jenkins lived her entire life in the Eunice section.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church and burial was held at the St. Louis Cemetery. Rev. W.F. Town officiated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by six sons, Dr. Harry Jenkins, Mark, Newhaus, all of Eunice, W.E. Jenkins of Devers, Texas, Dana of New Iberia and Cullen of Detroit, Michigan.

Three daughters, Mrs. T.V. Williams, Mrs. Iris Francois, both of Eunice, and Mrs. W.A. Foote, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; 50 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
