He was son of civil war veteran Daniel David Dutter (buried in Hamlin cemetery) and Mary Saxe Dutter, both born in PA.

He was brother of William M Dutter (1856) buried in Hamlin cemetery, Edward David Dutter Sr (1857) buried in EC, Alice, Melvina (Amelia) Dutter Rudd (also buried in Hamlin cemetery) and Sarah Sadie Dutter.

He married Dorothea Cleasby on July 4, 1885. Also Linda's obit says only had two brothers and two sisters, but then Dan and Grace preceded her in death?
