Catherine was the eighth child of twelve born to Joseph Poyser, Jr. and Martha Magdalena Reed. After her oldest sister, Mary Ann Reed Poyser (Myers) died, her brother-in-law, Peter J. Myers, became her husband on 9 Nov 1865 in Stark Co., Ohio. They had a son named, George who lived in Cleveland, Ohio.
