Ellis Island Records indicate that Marie Kull arrived in the on July 19, 1893, at the age of 13. She traveled on the Ship Dresden, which left from Bremen, Germany. She is listed as traveling with her parents and eight other brothers and sisters. Two sisters, Ida and Louise are not listed, and probably came at an earlier date.
The 1900 census lists Marie Kull iving with her parents in Cook County, Chicago, Cook County, IL.
Marie met and later married (15 Jan 1910)Emil Mueller in Chicago, IL. His last name was changed from Mueller to Miller. The couple lived in Chicago until 1920. After becoming ill, Marie and Emil moved to Suring, Oconto county, WI because she believed the clean air would be better for her health.
Marie's daughter Evelyn recalls that Marie worked in a sewing factory, but was often sick from stomach ulcers.
