Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin House, 74, of West Blocton, formerly of Birmingham, were held today at Brown Service, Bessemer. Burial was in Forest Hill.
Mr. House died Monday in a local hospital. A native of Powder Springs, Ga., he lived in the Birmingham area 65 years before moving to West Blocton.
Mr. House was retired from TCI and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in West Brocton.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Ben W House of Birmingham and Charles House of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., two daughters, Eugenia House and Mrs. Margaret McKeand and a sister, Mrs. Katie Snell, all of Birmingham."
[His father was Mark House and his mother was Mary Meddows according to Alabama death and burial index. His first wife was Irma Vera Harris who died age 29 in 1930. A daughter, Catherine, died age 2 in 1924]
