Hattie Thelma Dockery Stegall, age 93, formerly of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Blairsville, GA.
She was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Columbus Walter and Phoebe Viola Woody Dockery of the Hanging Dog Community. Hattie had worked for Brumby Textile in Murphy. She was the owner and operator of the OK Barbeque Restaurant for over 20 years in Hiawassee, GA with her husband, Orman. After retirement they moved to Hayesville before moving to the Blairsville area years later.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Orman Kenneth Stegall and two brothers, Richard Pearl Dockery and Clifford Dockery.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. L.B. Adams will officiate. Music will be provided by Carey Stegall and his wife Rhonda and Kenny Stegall.
Burial will be in the Laurel Hills Memory Gardens in Young Harris, GA. Pallbearers will be Bill Stegall, Corey Stegall, Kenny Stegall, Greg Stegall, Mark Hickey and Ryan Farmer. Honorary Pallbearer will be Johnny Farmer.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
