Mrs. Joseph Chowanes
Mrs. Joseph (Anna Macieunas) Chowanes, 237 West Lloyd Street, Shenandoah, died this morning at Pottsville Hospital,
Born in Lithuania, she was the daughter of John and Eva Macieunas, and lived in Shenandoah most of her life. She was a retired employee of Connie Fashions, Shenandoah; member of ILGWU, Shenandoah Senior Citizens and Lithuanian Women's Alliance. A member of St. George's Church and the church choir, she also belonged to St. Casimir's Ladies Auxiliary and the Lloyd Street Block Rosary.
Surviving are tow sons, Joseph and Edward, Shenandoah; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Anna Marie) Babinsku, RN, Mahanoy City; a sister, Mrs. Peter (Nellie) Baker, Philadelphia; five grandchildren. Her husband Joseph died in 1965, and a sister, Mary Sideravage, also predeceased her in death.
Funeral is Saturday, 11 am. from Oravitz Home for Funerals, Jardin Street entrance, with Mass at 11:30 in St. George's Church and burial in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery. Visitation Friday 1 -9 p.m. with scripture service at 7:30.
