Tilda Nellie (Nelson) Gowen, age 97, died Wednesday, September 12, 1990 in Wynyard Union Hospital.
She was educated in the Haglof district.
She was a homemaker throughout her life,
and was particularly active in in the Elfros Homemakers; Legion Auxiliary; and the Horticultural Society.
Interment in Elfros Cemetery.

On 6 July 1969, 175 folks attended the Canadian Legion to honor the 50th wedding anniversary of Shirley and Tilda.
After Shirley's Tilda remained in her home
at Elfros. In 1970 she broke her hip and had some difficulty getting around. She broke the other hip in 1970, however, with the aid of a walker still managed to do most of her own housework and tended her garden. Her daughter. Stella, and some wonderful neighbors helped her, and she attended the Senior Pop-In Center at Elfros.
Her brother, Ross Nelson, rented rooms in
her home until his death in 1983.
