A native of Orange Heights, he had lived in Melrose for 21 years, coming from Kings Park, Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired foreman of Penn Central Railroad, the largest passenger yard in the world at Sunnyside Yard Long Island, N.Y. He worked there for 40 years being responsible for over 5,000 employees. He was a member of Melrose United Methodist Church. He was a member of Waldo Lodge No. 10 F&AM, Scottish Rites Bodies, Shrine Club in Trenton, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Agnus O'Neill Bryan of Melrose; stepdaughter, Barbara Corcoran of Denver, Colo.; three sons, John V. Bryan of Kings Park, Long Island, N.Y., Eddie Bryan Jr. of Melrose, stepson, William Connolly of Melrose; two sisters, Lola Mae Brown of Orange Heights, Madge Tomlinson of Jacksonville; two brothers, Otis Bryan of Jacksonville, Bobby Bryan of Melrose; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Melrose United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alfred Vaught and the Rev. Jaynie Nell Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Eliam Cemetery in Melrose with graveside rites by Waldo Lopdge No. 10 F&AM.
Moring Funeral Home in Melrose is in charge of arrangements.
