Obituary
Funeral services for Celeste Dufilho will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with burial to follow at Bellevue Memorial Park here. Fr. Michael Russo will conduct the service. Visitation will be held at Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and will continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Ms. Dufilho, a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Doctors’ Hospital in Opelousas at 1:40 p.m. She was a member of Hope, Hook, and Ladder Ladies Auxiliary, Woodman of the World, Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society and a former member of the Cow Belles. Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Stelly of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Mervin (Gloria) Sonnier of Norman, Oklahoma, Mrs. Edwin (Rose) Hollier of Opelousas and Mrs. Donald D. (Beverly) Fontenot of DeRidder; one son, Harold Dufilho of Seattle, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Kirby (Carmen) Fontenot of Opelousas; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Fontenot and Alex St. Armand, both of Opelousas; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of the arrangements.
